Java SuperCollider (JSC) is a collection of plugins forEclipse withthe goalto create a cross platform IDE for the programming languageSuperCollider. In it's current version (v0.1.2 alpha) JSC got onlytested on Microsoft Windows XP. JSC on Linux is currently in testingphase (Ubuntu Hardy, Gusty and Debian Etch) . Support for Mac OS X isplanned. You should still be able to use the JSC plugin on Mac OS X but allsystem dependant features implemented in'jsc.jsclang' will not be working unless you have compiled a workingJSCLangModule library.

JSC is an aggregation of independent Eclipse plugins (aCollective Work) licensed under the GNUGeneral Public License. The individual plugins stay independent worksdistributed under their own licenses.     An optional plugin that integrates the SuperCollider help into Eclipse.It is released under the GNU General Public License (GPL).
  3. jsc.ui.swingosc
    This plugin integrates SwingOSCinto Eclipse. SwingOSC is anOpenSoundControl (OSC) server intended for scripting Java(tm), such asto create graphical user interfaces with AWT or Swing classes and getsdeveloped by Hanns Holger Rutz. It is released under the GNU GeneralPublic License.
  4. jsc.jsclang
    This plugin uses the library JSCLang to integrate SuperCollider inEclipse. It provides some default functionality like a compileLibraryaction and the JSC console. jsc.jsclang is independent of jsc.uiand may be used by other Eclipse plugins that want to communicate withSuperCollider. jsc.jsclang is released under the EclipsePublic License (EPL).
  5. jsc.jsclang.library
    This plugin provides the following java libraries for Eclipse:
    1. JSCLang (jsclang.jar)
      This library is used to establish aconnection to the SuperCollider language. Because of licenserestrictions in the GNUGeneral Public License (version 2) that prohibit linking a GPLcoveredsoftware to an EPL (Eclipse Public License) covered softwarethe included version of JSCLang doesn't do anything at themoment andis released under the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). You can download the GPL version of JSCLang(JSCLang for SuperCollider) thatincludes a linkto the SuperCollider language (SCLang) but I don't know if the GPLallows one to use this library with JSC in private so you have todecide for yourself.

Beware: JSC is still in alpha and needs a lot of testingand bugfixing. In it's current state we do not recommend using JSC for liveprojects. JSC will make changes to yourSuperCollider system extensions directory. Before using JSC we recommendmaking backups of all your files.
